Cutie from the Black Forest is a fine and warm story about shyness and sensitivity, friendship being born and one’s own place in life to be found.

In Black Forest, on the banks of Szemranka small creatures hidden from people’s sight lead their peaceful lives: chronicler Kaladyn who dreams to be like Julius Caesar, the Kibak Family that loves playing draughts, energetic Tupetka and taciturn sage Semper.

One day in this peaceful dwelling a scared, running away from the past creature appears. Cutie very quickly wins the forest inhabitants’ hearts.

This book has been awarded the Prize of the Book of the Year 2008 by the Literary Competition IBBY Polish Section.
