Kreska and The President
2008/05/11
Kreska and The President: How Cats Explain the World (”Prezes i Kreska. Jak koty tłumaczą sobie świat”) is an unusual, multifaceted tale. The children who read it will follow the adventures of Kreska and The President, the adults will find a beautiful story about a man and a woman, and anyone sensitive will be able to listen to some philosophical parables.
Meet Kreska and The President, the incredible purring personalities. Together they make some breakthrough discoveries, keep the secrets of the night and dream of journeys across the empty flat, right behind the door, where all the stories are hiding.
They look for the answers to some rare questions: can a bowl run away? How many pages does the world have? Why do stars tell lies? How long do you have to travel to meet the dawn? These tales about the bold, rather know-it-all President and the timid, but enchanting Kreska remind readers big and small that everyone has something of the philosopher and adventure-seeker in him, and that the world is made up of surprises.
This book was originally a blog, where Łukasz Orbitowski posted weekly stories about his cats.
Kreska and The President really do live in Krakow, and for the purposes of the book they have been beautifully portrayed by the author’s father, Janusz Orbitowski, who is a professor at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts
